Today, we celebrated at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Underline Phase 2 project. This design build undertaking is moving forward at a rapid pace. Upon completion, the Underline will be the greatest linear park in the nation to be enjoyed by our great Miami-Dade County community. The Underline Phase 2 project will add 2.14 miles of improvements running within or parallel to the County’s Metrorail Right-of-Way and include separate paved off-street bicycle and pedestrian paths, landscaping – including over 1,000 new trees and 100,000 new plants -, lighting, street furniture, multiple amenities, wayfinding signage, intersection safety improvements, and pavement markings. The LEAD team is honored to perform the design-build efforts for the improvement of our community. Blessed to have State of Florida, Miami-Dade County and City of Miami leadership supporting Meg Daly’s Friends of The Underline initiative and attending the ceremony.
