LEAD keeps moving forward with the construction of the FDOT State Road 5 (US-1) from SR 862 (I-595) to SR 842 Broward Boulevard Project. Kudos to the entire project team, a true partnership of the FDOT, CEI, EOR and LEAD's team members, to overcome challenges and be recognized by the community to be a good neighbor building the future infrastructure in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. The improvements include rehabilitating the structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and life safety components of the Henry E. Kinney Tunnel; milling and resurfacing SR 5/ US-1 from Rio Vista Boulevard to south of the Tunnel; installing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) along SR 5/US-1, extending the Tunnel top to accommodate a pedestrian plaza which will include new fountains, seating facilities, redesigned brick pavers, artificial turf and landscaping installation, and reconstructing the intersection of Las Olas Boulevard at SE 6th Avenue.
